Newport News Shipbuilding depends on suppliers across the country for material and services to build and maintain U.S. Navy aircraft carriers. Recently, NNS and a number of these suppliers participated in Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC) Action Days, during which officials met to discuss the vital importance of aircraft carriers to national security.

“ACIBC provides a great forum to hear the concerns and risks facing the Navy nuclear supply base, especially with the instability of government funding,” said Kelly MacDonald, director of Supply Chain Procurement. “Those concerns often turn into actions and provide a greater voice with government officials and the Navy customer.”
