United Way Campaign Underway at NNS

Published June 5, 2024

The Newport News Shipbuilding 2024 United Way campaign, “Connecting Our Community to Help and Hope,” runs through June. With a company goal of $2 million, each employee is asked to consider making a donation. One hundred percent of each gift supports the community in creating pathways out of poverty.

United Way coordinators will be contacting employees with details about the campaign and how to contribute. For a one-time payroll deduction, recurring payroll donations or to use a credit card, visit YourCause the NNS giving platform. Employees can access this site on a work computer, home computer/tablet or through the NNS to Go app.

United Way of the Virginia Peninsula (UWVP) supports for the health, education and financial stability of every person in the community. Working with dozens of local organizations, it connects businesses, local nonprofits and social service agencies to address the community’s most pressing needs.

Newport News Shipbuilding has made giving back to those in need a part of the company culture. Shipbuilders continue to support area communities through UWVP, accounting for more than 40% of the overall contributions each year.
