Newport News Shipbuilding is accepting applications for 2023 college summer internships. The deadline for students to apply is Nov. 27. Internships are paid opportunities for students to work 40 hours per week for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer. Accounting, business and finance majors should apply to req 25785. Computer science, IT and software engineering majors should apply to req 25784. Engineering majors (ABET accreditation required) should apply to req 25786. The Apprentice School Student Association is hosting its annual Holiday Dinner Dance at the Virginia Air and Space Center on 6 until 11 p.m. Come join us for a night of fun to enjoy prizes, games, dancing and a formal dinner. Newport News Shipbuilding’s Women in Manufacturing Community of Practice (CoP) invites NNS women and leaders interested in manufacturing, production and construction to an end of year presentation from 3:45 until 4:45 p.m. in the PCU Building (Bldg. 4931), hosted by sponsor Julia Jones, vice president of Manufacturing. “Cashing in on Confidence” will be the topic as attendees focus on understanding individual skillsets and personal boundaries.

The L.E.A.R.N. Program and VERG are co-hosting an in-person presentation and reception with HII President and CEO Chris Kastner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in Bldg. 520-6 (James River Room). The Project Management Shipbuilder Association (PMSA) invites shipbuilders to attend an after-work holiday social event from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at PBR (1976 Power Plant Parkway, Hampton, VA 23666).
