Newport News Shipbuilding recently updated its policy regarding company-issued hard hats (SSO 03-108). The full policy is available for review on MyNNS.

Highlights include:

• Shipbuilders should not write on hard hats. All markings must be applied by sticker.
• Only markings approved and issued by NNS may be applied to hard hats.
• Name and department number should be legible.

All shipbuilders should check their hard hat to ensure they are in compliance with the updated policy.
