Voluntary Self-Identification Survey Begins Next Week

Published November 13, 2024

Newport News Shipbuilding employees are invited to take the Voluntary Employee Self-Identification Survey from Nov. 18-Dec. 20. The two-question survey, facilitated through Gallup, will ask employees to self-identify their disability status and veteran status.

Federal contractors are required to collect this data every five years to comply with federal regulations. All responses will be kept confidential.

Employees with company computer access should expect to receive an email from Gallup ([email protected]) inviting them to participate. The email is approved and it is appropriate to open the link in order to participate. Employees without company computer access will have the opportunity to participate at a designated time with their crew during work hours. These employees will need to use their MyID to take the survey and are encouraged to access them on their mobile device via the NNS to Go app or by logging on to a computer at one of the survey centers set up across the shipyard.

For more information, see the Voluntary Employee Self-Identification handout, which includes a list of frequently asked questions.
