One year at NNS

“I did almost nine years with the Lynchburg Fire Department, then switched to emergency management at Liberty University. I got an offer from the shipyard, so we decided to pack up our twin boys and move to the beach! We had both lived in Lynchburg our entire lives, so this has been an adventure. I really missed the camaraderie of a fire department and this was the opportunity for me to get back into the service. I’ve loved NNS since getting here on day one. The biggest change is the environment. Treating a patient is the same mentality, but shipbuilders use equipment in certain spaces that present challenges I wouldn’t see in Lynchburg.”
