“I was a summer intern with the shipyard back in 1980, and my career has been in industrial audiology. I cover all three shifts and all 16,000 pairs of ears here – whenever there is a need, I’ll be here. For me, I solve problems by going out into the environment that a patient is in. I work with Industrial Hygiene and Safety when there are issues, and I’ll be on the waterfront with them. You have to be proactive at work and at home. Once you lose your hearing, it doesn’t heal. It doesn’t recover.”
