“I was a military kid – Air Force – and have traveled coast to coast. I’d estimate there are 20 or 25 different states I visited. Since coming into the shipyard, I’ve seen a lot of new carrier construction. I also did a short rotation at Dry Dock 1 to work with fleet support – that was interesting, going from something city-sized to mini-sized. It was a totally different look and feel. The shipyard reminds me of when I was a kid, seeing the differences in military and civilian life, and how those paths interact. It’s kind of familiar in that way.”
