“I started during the refueling of the last Enterprise (CVN 65) and have been in refueling since. I love the people. Over the course of time, the people you work with become like family – an extension of your own – and I’ve enjoyed being able to teach the younger shipbuilders who are coming in. Without refuelers, the ships that we produce would not be able to get out of the shipyard and stay out, doing what they do for us and our freedom.”
