“You can’t put together a puzzle without all of the little pieces that go inside. What we do in the inside machine shop is make all of those little pieces. If we don’t do our jobs correctly, sailors’ lives are put at risk. It’s extremely important for us to stand by that and have first-time quality. I love that my job is heavy metal arts and crafts. Its art meets math. It’s a lot of fun to take a raw product, have it become something, then turn around and say I made that. I highly recommend coming to the shipyard. This place challenges you every single day – to put your best foot forward and be better than you were yesterday.”
