“I love being an electrician. It brings a lot of principle to my life, both here and at home. There are key details about electricity that I value because poor electrical work is dangerous. I’m also proud to be a proficiency trainer. We help new hires through their probation period with real, on-the-job training. When I first started, I had so many questions – I love to know the ‘why’ behind things – but the answers were hard to get. Being a mentor is my way to ease someone else’s transition into the shipyard, because I want them to care the way I do.”
