Visit the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) homepage on MyNNS to check daily flag conditions, which are posted on the right side of the page. Red flag conditions indicate a heat index between 91 and 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Black flag conditions indicate a heat index of 105 degrees or higher.

Expect heat indices in the high 109 degrees next week.

This Week’s Heat Illness Prevention Tips:

• Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages. Instead, opt for water and/or electrolyte solutions.
• Keep an eye out for heat exhaustion symptoms, which include:
  • Excessive sweating.
  • Cool or pale clammy skin.
  • Muscle cramps.
  • Nausea and vomiting.
  • Feeling weak and/or tired.
  • Feeling faint and/or dizzy.
