Workers’ Memorial Day is April 28

Published April 27, 2021

Workers’ Memorial Day is observed every year on April 28 to remember and honor workers around the world who lost their lives, were injured or became ill on the job.

It also is an opportunity for all employees to reflect and recommit to making good, safe decisions; looking out for others; and speaking up when they see something unsafe.

As Newport News Shipbuilding practices social distancing and other measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there will not be an in-person ceremony to commemorate Workers’ Memorial Day. NNS is displaying wreaths at major entry points this week.
