Newport News Shipbuilding’s X42 and X43 departments are offering $2,500 sign-on bonuses to qualified job seekers with active security clearances interested in working as a pipefitter (Reqs 4745, 4787, 5169), outside machinist (Reqs 5229, 5227, 5189), refueler (Req 5188) or ship safety watch (Req 5187). Starting pay is nearly $20 per hour and increases with experience.
